Tell us a little bit about yourself. What's your name, where are you from and what do you do?
My name's Will and I'm originally from Groton Long Point, Connecticut, a tight-knit beach community at the mouth of Long Island Sound right next door to Rhode Island. The sea has always inspired my adventures whether that's sailing, surfing or just shooting along the shore. I currently reside in New York City working in the philanthropy world, but when I'm not running around the East Village, I'm most likely bopping about New England or road tripping the East Coast. All the while, producing content for my lifestyle brand Scrimshaw Collective, that I co-founded with my long-time buddy - and fellow Matador Ambassador - Wes Horbatuck.

What is Scrimshaw Collective all about?
Scrimshaw Collective is a lifestyle brand about where the sand meets the street. We are storytellers, sharing bicoastal experiences of our own and those of inspirational creatives. Scrimshaw Collective is dedicated to the music we love, the world of surfing, influential artists, and an endless wanderlust.

What gets you out of bed every morning?
Mate. I can't get enough of the stuff. It totally sets the course for my day.

What's a typical day like for you?
A typical day starts with a prompt piping hot shower, followed immediately by a freezing rinse - a shocking wake up call. I then jump the city's bike share system to the office; you'd be surprised how zen a cycling commute through New York can be. After a productive day in the office, helping save the world, it's a run (along the “charming” East River) and then Scrim sesh til bed. As mentioned before, there's plenty of mate in there, but also loads of almonds, steak and popcorn. Popcorn is kryptonite.

What's next?
Growing our brand, keep pumping out quality content, and continue notching at my ever-growing bucket list (i.e. hike/kombie across New Zealand, become scuba certified, crush the tennis game, longboard more, learn a new language [my eye’s on Mandarin], and keep on surfing).
