What’s it like living in Ontario?
I'm currently living in Peterborough Ontario as I complete my undergraduate degree in Geography at Trent University. Peterborough is a great location for adventurers and photographers alike as it's situated within driving distance of many Provincial Parks, hiking trails, and conservation areas. It's a quiet town and far enough away from any major metropolis like Toronto. It's a region where you can easily find a trail or forest where you can go to be alone with your thoughts and relax. Ontario itself is full of many diverse landscapes with opportunities for adventure around every corner.

What gets you out of bed every morning?
What gets me out of bed in the morning is the thought of seeing, doing or otherwise experiencing something new each day. I am constantly motivated to try and impress myself and do or create something I can be proud of, something that puts me one step closer to success. I know that if I don't try my hardest and put my full effort into achieving something, I won't be the best that I can be or reach my goals. That mentality is what motivates me to work harder every day.

When did you pick up photography?
I have enjoyed photography for as long as I can remember. From my first polaroid camera as a kid, to all the point and shoot cameras I used and abused until they stopped working, to learning how to shoot on film, and then saving up to buy my first DSLR. Photography has always been a way for me to create and share what I couldn't express with my words or draw with my hands.

Where’s your favorite place to adventure to?
Locally my favorite place is the Warsaw Caves just outside Peterborough, Ontario. The amazing mossy limestone rock formations and forest make me feel like I’m home whenever I'm there. When I have more time on my hands for a little bit longer of a drive or a camping trip I love exploring the endless lakes and trails of Algonquin Provincial Park, or wherever the day might take me. I love exploring new places and countries and seeing the amazing wild places this world has to offer.

What’s next?
Next summer I'll be heading to Iceland to take a road trip in a camper van around the circumference of the island. I've always been amazed by photos and stories from Iceland and wanted to see it for myself. As someone with a lot of interest in both glaciers and volcanoes and how they continue to shape the landscape, Iceland is one of many ideal locations to see them. This winter I am hoping to do a lot of skiing and winter hiking/camping, and I'm still working out plans but I'm hoping to spend some time in some mountains if I can!
