Tell us a little bit about yourself. What's your name, where are you from?
My name is Zakhary Kipp. Currently in Newport Beach, California. My mother tossed me in the pool at 6 months old and I haven’t looked back since. I grew up having to be in the water daily whether that was surfing River Jetties, body surfing The Wedge during the summer, competitive swimming and water polo during my middle school and high school days, or doing double backflips off the roof of my parents house into our pool, I NEEDED to be in the water.  Present day I’m still surrounded by water on a daily basis. I’m also beyond blessed to have a happy, healthy and beautiful 3 year old daughter, Karsyn Marie Kipp.

When did you get into photography and what does it mean to you?
I got into photography through my grandfather. I remember being 7 years old and my grandfather always taking pictures of the grandchildren at family gatherings or geeking out over golden hour, wherever we went he had a camera. Being around him a lot, I remember picking up his Canon AE-1 and starting to snap photos of my grandmother cooking dinner in the kitchen or chasing sunsets with my grandfather. Seeing how much joy photography gave my grandfather is really what motivated me to keep pursuing it. Photography to me is a therapeutic. I try and take photos that nobody else gets, I like unique angles and using different methods of photography to portray how I see things.

What gets you out of bed every morning?
My daughter. Sunrise. Waves. Camera.
Challenging myself everyday to do something different and to meet someone new. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories, it’s motivating.

What's a typical day like for you?
A typical day for me is being in the water and having a camera in my hand other than that no two days are the same. I like to push myself to try different things on a day to day basis and not having a typical day. I not only have myself to motivate but a 3 year old to be a role model to so I have to continue to better myself each and every day so I can be someone she is proud of and wants to be like as she grows up.

What's next?
Being only 24 years old i’m just getting started. I’m an entrepreneur at heart so I’m always looking for business opportunities and currently working on my own brand.
I also want to create something that brings people together and helps them accomplish their goals because what I always tell people is “anything is possible”, and I want to help them in anyway I can to help them realize that.
