Matador is a fast paced, profitable startup focused on designing and manufacturing premium objective-based travel equipment. Since our founding in 2015, we have launched over 35 products with retail and distribution partners globally. The pace of our product development pipeline and retail expansion is increasing as we head into 2021 and we are building up our best in class team to support this growth. Matador is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado which affords us the ideal playground to design and test our products.

Matador is currently seeking an entry-level Customer Service Representative and Special Projects Assistant. This position will be the voice of the company to many of our customers, so strong, positive communications skills are critical. You would be joining a tight-knit team of talented, hard-working individuals. We are looking for a real all-star: someone who is reliable, proactive, and enthusiastic about our mission.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Customer Service:
  • Answering phones, emails, and social media inquiries regarding any issues or information requests, and responding to these in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Maintaining an up to date, in-depth knowledge of all Matador products for customer inquiries
  • Processing and tracking returns, warranties, and overall customer and product issues
  • Responding to chargeback claims and managing the fraudulent orders filter
  • Interjecting promptly in online product discussions and reviews to address any customer concerns
Office Administration:
  • Maintaining inventory of office supplies, snack, and product samples
  • Shipping samples as needed for all departments
  • Daily mail drops at FedEx, UPS, and USPS
  • Organizing and tidying public office spaces and coordinating quarterly all-hands cleanups
  • Planning in-house or offsite activities and celebrations for staff
  • Maintaining the public office calendar with holidays, special events, etc.
Special Projects:
  • Providing an “extra set of hands” for all departments as needed. This might include research projects, new vendor setups, modeling for product photography, moving boxes, shipping orders, petting dogs – whatever needs to be done at the time.
  • Coordinating promotional and customized product orders with decorators and end customers
  • Shipping inventory between Matador’s third-party warehouse locations as needed
  • Periodically updating online storefronts
  • Monitoring and enforcing our MAP Policy (minimum advertised price)
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Aptitude with basic Microsoft office applications, strong typist abilities
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • Experience in the outdoor, travel, or retail industries are not necessary, but highly preferred.
