WHY WE BUILT THE FREERAIN22

Nearly a decade ago, we built the original FreeRain backpack to fill a specific travel need — the need for a packable backpack that could keep up on outdoor pursuits. It was the first of its kind: waterproof, packable, and highly capable. Today’s Freerain22 is the third generation of that backpack. Designed with purpose and without compromise, the Freerain22 maintains its reputation for peak technical performance.

Perfect bag if you want to travel light

Poor performance. But stylish & packable.

This bag looks cool and it's very packable, but it didn't perform well on a recent hiking trip. Not much structure to this bag, so things shift and bounce around a lot unless the bag is totally full. The material is thin & not durable, so it ripped a bit while I was hiking through brush. The belt hip didn't offer much (if any) helpful support for me.

I wanted to return but Matador has an "unused only" return policy :(
